A delicious snack after a long day of study or play for your loved ones.

How to make Black Forest Milkshake

Hello everyone. It’s been a long time since we have talked. Today I am here to change the scenario, as I am here with a new recipe.

Sharing today is my recipe for Black Forest Milkshake. Since online schools have started, I figured this milkshake will be a good snack after the zoom calls.

And I wasn’t wrong. My little missy loved a cold drink after her sessions at school.

Story Behind The Milkshake:

Well, there is a story behind my recipe for Black Forest Milkshake. I wanted to come up with a recipe with cherries in the month of July.

Somehow, nothing seemed to be working. I am a huge fan of Black Forest cake. And then it made me think, why not try making a milkshake. Same flavors but in easy to make version.

And the recipe was formed, tried and tested by my taste tester. The result was a delicious drink snack.

What Is In This Milkshake?

The Milkshake is full of flavors and aromas of a Black Forest cake, minus the cake.

The main ingredient is cherries and chocolate for flavor and aroma and milk forms its base.

To give it a typical color, I have added a juice of maraschino cherries, which gives this milkshake it beautiful magenta/red color.

Let’s Talk About Ingredients:

Ingredients of Black Forest Milkshake

I start with fresh cherries. Get rid of the pits and keep them ready to use.

Next, it is time to add icecream. We are making a milkshake, ice cream is one of the main components.

I have used cherry ice cream with chocolate chips in it. (for that authentic black forest flavors).

No worries if you don’t come around cheery-chocolate chip icecream. You can use cherry ice cream and add chocolate syrup to it.

To add aroma, I have used some vanilla extract.

And finally, maraschino cherry syrup to bring out the luscious pink color and flavor of this drink.

Please note: I have not added sugar or sweetener to this recipe. As the ice cream and the syrup will have its sweetness.

But if you want, you can add sugar according to your preference.

How to Make Black Forest Milkshake:

It’s simple. Just add all the ingredients in the blender and blend it together.

Pour it into a serving glass, top it with whipped cream and a cherry and serve immediately.

Variations:

To make it more nutritious you can add bananas and chia seeds to this milkshake. It can serve as a breakfast smoothie if mixed with some granola.
