Quick Citrus Salad- Easy Baby Meals

Hello there everyone. It’s almost the end of February, and it is still cold. Brr. I am already dreaming of everything Spring.

Today’s recipe is almost on those lines as well. Citrus fruits are in season and markets are filled with them. So I thought of making this Quick Citrus Salad for my family.

It is a no-fuss salad and gets ready in just a few minutes. My Quick Citrus Salad recipe is a great option for incorporating a variety of citrus fruits in only one dish.

I had been busy this month with Food Photography Challenge. This challenge was hosted by Kimberly Espinel from The Little Plantation. She is a London based Food Photographer, Stylist, and Vegan Food Blogger.

The food photography challenge pushed my boundaries of food photography. You can check out my submissions at my Instagram account– Go through #EatCaptureShare. You will also come across other amazing creatives.

Getting back to the recipe..

As I mentioned before this is one of the easiest salad you will make.

I have used mandarines, blood oranges and tangerines as the base. I dressed this with an extra virgin olive oil, crushed mint leaves and salt and black pepper for seasoning. That’s it. Now isn’t this simple?

My Little Notes:

Quick Citrus Salad is suitable for babies one year and above. Once you know, they are not allergic to citrus fruits.

Citrus fruits are a good source of fiber, folate and vitamin C. Mandarines are beneficial for bone health and are filled with antioxidants.

Blood oranges, a close cousin of oranges have Anthocyanin, the red pigment that provides the blood orange’s distinctive coloration.

It may provide additional protection against cancer and heart disease. Anthocyanin, in particular, seems to help lower LDL or “bad” cholesterol levels and keep blood vessels flexible and strong.

Tangerines are the additional source of potassium, vitamin A and flavonoids which boost specific anticancer properties.

With so many advantages, making Quick Citrus Salad is a must for this citrus season. Give it a try soon.

Till we talk again, take care and enjoy the journey of cooking for your little ones.
