Persimmons Sweet Potatoes Pear Puree is a flavorful mix of fruits and vegetables from the freshest produce of January. It is a nutritious meal for babies 8+ months and above.
Hello everyone. It’s January and market is full of fresh January fruits and vegetables. Every month has its own flavor, so why not get what is available and enjoy its fresh taste and flavors.
Keeping this in mind, today I have shared a recipe which includes the seasonal produce. I have mixed Persimmons, Sweet Potatoes and Pear to make a nutritious puree for babies 8 months and above.
{In case you missed, in the last post, I had discussed what is available at the market. Along with when to introduce what to your baby for the month of January. – Here’s the post.}
In the following recipe, Persimmons is the star of this puree. There are two types of persimmons- Fuyu and Hichiya. I have used Fuyu Persimmon in this recipe.
I have cooked Persimmons, Sweet Potatoes, and Pear pieces together and added little All Spice to give it a warm aroma.
You can cook this in water or steam it as well. The sweetness of all the three ingredients compliments well the Allspice.
Isn’t this recipe simple and delicious? Even moms would enjoy it.
Make it soon, before the persimmons are out of season.
Let’s go through the recipe.

My Little Notes:
-
- Persimmons can be introduced to babies from 8 months.
-
- Persimmons are rich in vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, and vitamin B6. They are a good source of dietary fiber, manganese, copper, magnesium, potassium, and phosphorous.
-
- Persimmons aids in digestion helps boost the immune system, improves blood circulation and improves eye health. Just to name the few health benefits.
-
- Sweet Potatoes and Pears have their own share of health benefits as well.
-
- Persimmons should be free of cuts or bruises. Though freckling is normal. Fuyu persimmons are hard and crisp like apples, while Hachiya persimmons are large and soft pulpy fruits.
- Ripe Hachiya persimmons at room temperature until soft and mushy. Store Fuyu persimmons at room temperature or refrigerate.

This sounds like a great combination of flavors. Never thought of persimmons & sweet potatoes together.
It is a delicious combination. 🙂
My daughter always loved anything with seeet potatoes in and it’s one of her favourites now too.
That’s wonderful. Even my little one still loves it.
So I don’t have a baby, but is it wrong that I would eat it? 🙂 Would never have thought about adding persimmons!
Of course, you can have it too. Just add it to your breakfast cereal. 😀
I haven’t ever tried persimmons because I didn’t know what to do with them. What an unusual recipe! It definitely intrigues me.
