Finger Foods: Pasta And Grapes

Hello, everyone..!!! I am back with two more ideas for Finger Foods for your little one. If you have a toddler who wants variety every time for her snack, it’s possible to run out of ideas for nutritious and healthy snacks pretty soon.

And then, we end up giving something that sugary and store bought. But with some innovative ideas and just a little cooking, we can give our little one something that’s full of essential nutrients and without any mommy guilt as well.

Grapes:

Grapes are one of the easiest snacks that can be served to toddlers. Just wash, cut and serve. They have flavonoids that are essential for heart health and protect against bad cholesterol. They are also packed with antioxidants, especially the red and dark ones.

According to the EWG, grapes (imported) are one of the “dirty dozen” foods that are most highly contaminated with pesticides. So purchasing organic grapes for babies and toddlers is important. While serving grapes, cut them into toddler’s bite-size pieces, to avoid choking.

Pasta:

Whole wheat pasta, is again a good option for finger food for toddlers. My daughter loves it. I cook whole wheat pasta according to the instructions and then add the little salt and black pepper according to her taste. She plays with it and eats everything that’s being served. You can also add some grated cheese to it.

Pasta is a good source of vitamins and minerals. It is also filled with essential carbohydrates which help little bodies to produce energy.  Whole grain pasta is made from semolina and Durham wheat, that is hearty and nutritious. It is not refined in the process of making pasta. In the above picture, I have used “Elbow” pasta and topped it with some bits of cheddar cheese slice.
