Chocolate Date Shake is a quick breakfast drink for the busy morning.
Hello, everyone. The long weekend is here, and I am eagerly looking forward to it. It will be time for me to sit back a bit and relax. It has been a crazy week so far.
Blogging is a lot of work, especially when keeping up with a toddler. I am sure all the bloggers with little ones out there would agree with me.
This coming long weekend I am going to take a little break from all the work and have a little mini-vacation for myself.
On this note of hectic life, today I am sharing a recipe for such a busy, chaotic morning. A few weeks back I did a Guest Post for Kaitie from FuchsiaFreezer.com. She is a Food Blogger and a fellow Foodie Mama.
At Fuchsia Freezer, Kaitie has a fantastic collection of recipes which are delicious and straightforward. I love the Kids Corner Section. It is my go-to unit when it comes to feeding something new to my 2-year-old.
For Kaitie, I wanted to make something that would match her blog and style. So I came up with this Chocolate and Date Shake. It is a quick breakfast shake which gets ready in just a few minutes.
Here’s the post and the recipe for Chocolate and Date Shake.
Hello, everyone. I am so excited to be here today and share my recipe with you all. I want to thank Katie for giving me this opportunity.
I blog at www.easybabymeals.com. Here I share recipes and ideas on making your baby-toddler food at home.
All the recipes are so simple that they get ready in just a couple of minutes. Making baby food at home has never been so easy and delicious.
Today I am sharing with you a quick breakfast shake. It is made from dates. I got the inspiration for this shake when I was on vacation a few months back.
I had a Date shake at Palm Springs CA, for the first time for my breakfast, and I fell in love with it. I had ordered it for my toddler, but I ended up having it too. This shake is quick and can be quite filling. The following recipe is good for the whole family.
I grew up having dates. It was my go-to snack whenever I had a sugar craving. Dates are filled with vitamins and minerals. It is a good source of energy, sugar, and fiber too.
Essential minerals such as calcium, iron, phosphorus, sodium, potassium, magnesium, and zinc are found in dates. It also contains vitamins such as thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, folate, vitamin A, and vitamin K.
Dates help in relieving constipation, especially for babies and toddlers. They are useful for maintaining bone, heart, and nervous system health.
I found this article about Dates, at Healthy But Smart– which explains all the health benefits of having them, very helpful.
With so many advantages of having dates, making it as a part of a first meal will, of course, make your day sweet. So let’s go through the recipe for this Chocolate Date Shake.
Chocolate Date Shake
You Need:
- 1 cup Milk
- 1/2 cup Dates (deglet noor or medjool dates, pits removed and washed)
- 1 tbs Chocolate Syrup
- 1/4 cup Vanilla Ice Cream
- 1/4 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 3 Ice Cubes
How To Make It:
-
Add all the above ingredients to the blender. And blend it well
-
Pour it into a serving glass and Serve.
Recipe Notes
- I have used “Deglet Noor” dates for this recipe.
- You can try this recipe with Almond Milk too. Though I haven’t tried it yet.
- This shake will be thick. If it gets too thick, add some more liquid, and blend it again.
I want to Thank Kaitie for having me on FuchsiaFreezer.com. Do visit her beautiful blog and check out her culinary adventures. You can also connect with her on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram.
