Dried Figs And Chia Jam

You Need:

  • 1 cup Dried Figs
  • 1+1/2 cups Water
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 Cardamom Pods
  • 1 tbsp Chia Seeds
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 tsp Cinnamon Powder

How To Make It:

  1. Start by washing and cutting dries figs into 4 pieces. Remove the stems, if any.
  2. In a pot add dried figs, water, cardamom pods and brown sugar. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes on medium heat.

  3. After 5 minutes, add chia seeds, lemon juice, vanilla extract and cinnamon powder. Mix everything well.

  4. Switch off the flame and cover the pot. Leave this, till it cools down. At this point, chia seeds will soak up the liquid from the jam.
  5. Once cooled, run this through a food processor. Do not add any liquid
  6. Transfer this to an airtight jar or mason jar. Keep it refrigerated.
  7. Enjoy this jam with your favourite food.
