Quick Mango Strawberry Salsa

Hello, everyone. Summer is in full swing here in Arizona. Last week there were extreme heat warnings, and yes it was really hot. During this hot season, eating a meal is the last thing on my daughter’s mind. Even we don’t feel like having something hearty. A light summery food is what we are more inclined to.

For the little one, her diet these days is full of fresh fruit juices, smoothies, and fresh salads. Yes, salads. She prefers more of raw ingredients than the cooked version of it. She keeps munching on tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, apples, oranges, grapes etc. Keeping her preferences in mind, I made this Mango Strawberry salsa to go with her Chicken Quesadillas. This is a quick fruity salsa which kids and grown-ups would enjoy together.

In the following recipe, I have just used fresh cut mangoes and strawberries and added some oregano to it. It is a good accompaniment to any of grilled dishes too.

Kids love this salsa due to it’s sweet and tangy flavor combination, along with bright colors that scream summer at it’s best. This recipe is great for children 1 year and above. While serving this salsa, make sure to cut the fruit in toddler-friendly pieces to reduce the risk choking hazard.

As mentioned above, I have paired this salsa with Chicken Quesadillas. It is a quick weeknight or weekend meal for the family. For the grown-up version, add some green chilies or red chili flakes to give it some heat. Squeeze in some fresh lemon juice and you are good to go. Try this Quick Mango Strawberry Salsa for your family’s meal next time, and I am sure you will make it more often.
