When it comes to fruits, there are a lot of options available in the market. Giving those two to the babies is the best start to healthy eating.

Introducing children to fruits early can help them develop the taste and fondness for eating raw natural sugar without any additives. Once they get used to it, fruits can later be a good option as finger foods and later a good snack. I like having fruits a lot and I wanted my daughter too, to develop that fondness for them. So as she grew I started introducing her with age-appropriate fruits.

Today I have used two lovely fruits, peach, and strawberry. When mixed together, they turn out into a beautiful and delicious looking meal. I am sure when you prepare this recipe, you will be tempted to have it too.

Peaches and strawberries are mother nature’s answer to sour and sweet together. Peach is a good source of vitamin C and fiber. They help in preventing cancer, diabetes, and heart diseases.

Look for peaches that are firm and has a fuzzy skin without any blemishes. Store them at room temperature.  Strawberries too have their own share of healthy benefits. They are an excellent source of vitamin C, manganese, and fiber.

They have antioxidant, anti inflammatory, anti cancer properties, and cardiovascular benefits. They also help in controlling blood sugar level. Strawberries are highly perishable fruit, so they need to be used as soon as possible.

Selects ones which are plump, firm and free from mold. They should be shiny and have a deep red color with attached green cap. Since strawberries don’t ripen after they are picked, so avoid those which are yellow or have a green color as they would be sour.

Strawberries come under one of the “Dirty Dozens”. They are the most contaminated fruits with pesticides. So when buying for a baby it’s advisable to buy them organic. They can be introduced to babies as early as 6 months, but there are chances that some babies might have an allergic reaction to them, so use caution.

I introduced my baby to strawberries at 8 months without any problem, but again each baby is different.
