Fruit Skewers With Yogurt Dip

Fruit Skewers With Yogurt Dip, a healthy snack for kids and grown-ups.

It’s summertime. Markets are full of summer season produce. I love the fresh colors that come with these fruits and vegetables. During my last trip to the grocery store, I ended up buying most that fresh and colorful goodness.

My daughter loves her fruits on any given day. Those are her favorite munchies.

So, I came up with these Fruit Skewers and paired it with Yogurt. Besides, it’s holiday time for parties and barbecues. These can be a colorful and nutritious addition to any event.

This is a no-cook recipe and is made in less than 10 minutes. Just cut fruits and whip up some yogurt. Here I have used strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries. Gave them a rough cut, and assembled it on a toothpick.

To give it a patriotic look, especially for the upcoming long weekend, I have added a piece of mozzarella cheese stick. These skewers add a wonderful color to any table spread for 4th of July.

For the skewers,  I have used a toothpick to assemble all the ingredients. I found normal skewers to be too huge for my toddler. I chopped a strawberry into four equal parts. Two big strawberries gave me 8 skewers. For blueberries and blackberries, I left them as they were. And for cheese, I took a mozzarella cheese stick and chopped them into 8 equal parts, then added them to the skewers.

There is a little note of caution: Since toothpicks have a sharp edge, adult supervision is extremely important. When serving it to a toddler, get rid of the toothpick.

For the dipping, I have used 1/4 cup Greek Vanilla yogurt and added 1/2 tsp sugar. You can add honey or brown sugar, according to your taste. Then, gave it a whip. Just to incorporate everything well and until it turns smooth. That’s it.

This recipe is great for a kids party. You can use any fruit of your choice for these fruit skewers. Make these skewers ahead and refrigerate it for some time. Take them out at the time of serving, so they are fresh and delicious.
