February Produce List+Recipes- Easy Baby Meals

Hello February. I can’t believe we are already in the second month of this year. It felt like January went in a snap. I was either sick or caring for sick most of the time. So things were blurred for me.

Thankfully we all had our Flu Shots, so things didn’t go out of control. Just a thought, it’s never too late for a Flu Shot.

Coming back to today’s post, I would like to begin this month by sharing with you all February Produce List. To eat what’s in the season is always the best, plus it’s economical as well.

Besides that, I have also included when to introduce that particular fruit or vegetable to your baby, along with recipes. Life becomes a bit simple when you have all the information needed.

Here’s the list of Fruits And Vegetables that are fresh and are in season during February. Many of them come under Winter Produce since they are in season from December to February, while some are available year-round.

February Produce List + Recipes- Easy Baby Meals

With all this information on Seasonal Produce, let’s see what we can give to our little ones each month. Introducing new food to little ones is a challenge, so always consult your pediatrician.

Below is the handy chart of Introducing February Produce at each month. Now, this is based on what I gave my daughter after consulting her Pediatrician.

When To Give...-Easy Baby Meals

  • 6 Months +

Leeks, Parsnips, Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes, and Winter Squash.

These are all easy-to-digest vegetables. A pureè made from these with a little dash of cumin or cinnamon will turn them into a delicious baby meal.

  • 8 Months +

Beetroot, Broccoli, Grapefruit, Kiwi, And Turnips.

Mixing above mentioned vegetables with the ones mentioned here can be a great option for a baby meal. I would still talk to my pediatrician before introducing Grapefruit and Turnips. Grapefruit being acidic in nature can cause a rash. I introduced turnips to my daughter after her 1 year birthday.

  • 10 Months +

Brussel Sprouts, Cabbage, Citrus Fruits, and Pomegranate.

Brussel Sprouts and Cabbage can be steamed. They can be mixed with other vegetables to make a meal. Adding little garlic will enhance the flavor of the meal. I would only serve juice of citrus fruits and pomegranate without any additional sugar. You can add the juice to the breakfast porridge.

  • 1 Year+

Kale, Passion Fruit, and Radish.

I personally didn’t introduce Kale, Passion Fruit, and Radish to my daughter until she was 3 years of age. But you can go ahead and consult with your pediatrician before introducing these to your baby’s diet.

With all the information above, let’s go through some of the recipes you can try for your munchkins.
