My Little Note:

Cantaloupe can be introduced to babies from 8 months and above. Since they have a high acidic content, they might cause a rash, if introduced earlier.

Cantaloupe is a perfect summer fruit. It is filled with vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin C, fiber, and folate. It has various antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Cantaloupes are a part of the cucurbit family of plants (Cucurbitaceae). These also include squashes, pumpkins, cucumbers, gourds, and melons. Cantaloupe, watermelon, honeydew all come under melon family. When choosing this fruit, pick one which doesn’t have any soft spot or bruises. It should have a sweet smell and feel heavy, but not over fragrant which indicates it’s too ripe. If cantaloupe feels too hard and not ripe, leave it at room temperature for few days. Once the fruit is cut refrigerate it immediately.

This looks so refreshing Deepika and I’d totally try it soon. I loooove cantaloupe and we always have some at home when it’s in season, so this will be made real soon 🙂

This recipe sounds really yummy and refreshing. Much more interesting then the typical watermelon version. I would definitely be adding jalapeño to my portion!

I am going to try today with mint leaves as I don’t have basil. Hope that works too.

This cannot be classified as baby meal 😀
